Five Hotels · One Collection
Flora Hotels
Flóra is a growing collection of hotels across Reykjavík. Each property has its own character, but the idea stays the same: Calm rooms, and a good night’s sleep.
Who we are
Flóra brings together different properties in Reykjavík, each with a character of its own.
The first step
It begins with Domus Guesthouse in central Reykjavík — a single guesthouse, and the first move into hospitality.
Reykjavík Residence opens
Hverfisgata 45 and Veghúsastígur 7 are fully restored, and in March 2011 Reykjavík Residence Hotel opens in the renovated Hverfisgata 45. The approach is set from the start: historic Reykjavík houses preserved, restored and given new life as high-quality apartments.
Growing on Hverfisgata
The hotel expands with a new building at Hverfisgata 21, a 1912 stone house once home to Iceland's first prime minister, followed by further apartments.
Lindargata and Hverfisgata 78
Two more historic buildings are acquired and restored for hotel use, extending the collection further along the old streets of the city centre.
Port9 opens
In November 2016 the wine bar Port9 opens in the courtyard between Veghúsastígur 7, 9 and 9a, taking its name from the passage between the houses. New buildings at Veghúsastígur 9a and Lindargata 11 are completed in summer 2017.
Tower Suites
Tower Suites joins the collection in late 2018: eight suites on the 20th floor of the Höfðatorg tower, the highest viewpoint in Reykjavík.
ODDSSON
ODDSSON opens at Grensásvegur 16a in 2019, a 77-room hotel in a converted 1975 building, and joins the collection in spring 2020.
Vatnsstígur
Thirty-eight new hotel apartments are acquired at Vatnsstígur, where three buildings — among them the protected 1916 house at Vatnsstígur 4 — are connected into a single property, restored in keeping with their original form.
Flóra Hotels
The hotels and bars are brought together under one name: Flóra Hotels. ODDSSON Downtown opens at Háteigsvegur 1 in June 2024, and Reykjavík Residence takes the new Vatnsstígur 2 building into use that autumn.
201 Hotel
201 Hotel joins the collection in August 2025, extending Flóra beyond the city centre.
