COOKIE POLICY — FLÓRA COLLECTION WEBSITE
Flóra hotels ehf. (“we,” “us,” “theCompany”) uses cookies and similar technologies on this Website. This CookiePolicy explains what they are, which ones we use, and how you can manage them.It should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which explains more broadlyhow we handle personal data.
This policy covers the Website only. Thebooking engine on the Website (BookVisit) is operated on behalf of the hotelyou book with; see Section 4 below.
1. WHAT COOKIES ARE
Cookies are small text files placed on yourdevice when you visit a website. They allow the site to recognise your device,remember your preferences, and understand how the site is used. Similartechnologies, such as pixels and local storage, work in comparable ways. Inthis policy, “cookies” includes these technologies.
2. HOW WE USE COOKIES
We use cookies for the following purposes:
- Strictly necessary cookies — required forthe Website to function, including page navigation, security, and access tosecure areas of the site. The Website cannot operate properly without these,and they do not require your consent. All other cookies are only set with yourconsent, as required by Art. 88(2) of the Icelandic Electronic CommunicationsAct No. 70/2022.
- Analytics cookies — help us understandhow visitors use the Website, such as which pages are visited and how longpeople stay, so we can improve content and performance. These are only set withyour consent.
- Functional cookies — support featuressuch as embedded content and remembering choices you make, to improve yourexperience. Where these are not strictly necessary, they are set with yourconsent. Personalisation cookies — used to show you relevant content andoffers; set only with your consent.
3. EMBEDDED CONTENT
Some pages include content provided bythird parties, such as videos, maps, and chat features. When you interact withthis content, the third-party provider may set cookies of its own, which we donot control. This content is only loaded where you have consented to it orwhere you choose to engage with it. We encourage you to review the relevantprovider’s cookie and privacy policy for further detail.
4. BOOKING
When you proceed to make a booking, you usethe BookVisit booking engine (Visit Group), which processes booking data as aprocessor on behalf of the hotel you book with, under a data processingagreement. Cookies set during the booking process are shown in the cookiesettings of the booking engine. The processing of your booking data isdescribed in the Guest Privacy Policy of the hotels, available on the websitesof the hotels.
5. THIRD-PARTY COOKIES
Some cookies are placed by third partiesthat provide services on our behalf, including our analytics andpersonalisation providers, our booking engine provider (BookVisit) andproviders of embedded media and chat. These parties may process information undertheir own privacy and cookie policies, over which we have limited control.Where any provider is located outside the EU/EEA, transfers of personal dataare based on Standard Contractual Clauses under Art. 46 GDPR and, where theprovider is certified, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which applies inIceland under Decision of the EEA Joint Committee No. 169/2024.
6. MANAGING YOUR CONSENT
When you first visit the Website, you areasked to accept or reject non-essential cookies through our cookie settingsbanner. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time via the cookiesettings banner on the Website, or through your browser settings. Withdrawingconsent does not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out before youdid so.
