Parking in Reykjavík city centre
There is no free parking directly in front of our properties.
The city is divided into paid parking zones, marked by P-signs on the streets, with the zone shown on each ticket machine. As a general rule, the more central you are — closest to Laugavegur and the downtown area — the higher the cost, so Zone P1 is the most expensive and is limited to a maximum of three hours. Zones further from the centre (P2, P3 and P4) are progressively cheaper, and some are free on weekends. The ticket machines display the current rate and hours for the zone you are in.
The easiest way to pay is through a parking app rather than the machines. We recommend EasyPark or Parka; download either app, register your vehicle and payment card, and start a session for your zone.
